best stuff ever! my lab was loosing her hair and after a vet trip (no mange or other illnesses) he suggested change in diet. I tried everything! but this is the only thing that worked. I tried another “salmon” dog food but nope, hair started falling out again. switched back & all is well again. and this is $5 cheaper than Walmart!!!

I have a senior dog and I was looking for something that would be easy to digest and was good for him. This food has actual meat (fish) as the first ingredient. I was a little skeptical about the pumpkin because I had not heard of it being in dog food before, but it turns out he really loves it! It has a lot of ingredients that are good for dogs of all ages. dogfoodadvisor.com gives it an average (3.5 star) rating which is pretty good. It’s a little crunchy but even with my boy’s old teeth he can chow it down. His usually coarse fur is shiny and smooth now too. The price is a little on the high side but is well worth it for the ingredients.

My dogs love this brand and it has helped minimize their skin allergies. Great value for the quality and amount of food.

My dogs love this stuff! I give it to them as a treat at night. Cheaper than cookies and they like it just as well (as long as Mom feeds it to them by hand 🙂 I like that it has no corn, wheat or soy and no poultry by-product meal in it so I feel like I’m giving them something that is better for them and it’s priced better than other low grain options.Purina Beyond Natural Dry Dog Food, Superfood Blend, Salmon, Egg and Pumpkin Recipe, 3.7-Pound Bag, Pack of 1

My dog used to be frequently afflicted with clogged anal glands. My vet recommended pumpkin as a natural remedy. Mixing canned pumpkin into her food worked as a preventative and treatment for her anal gland problems. I looked into dog foods that already have a high amount of pumpkin included as an ingredient to simplify things and found this among a couple others. Since this had the best price, I tried it before the other brands. My dog, a lab mix, loves it. Best of all, she has not had clogged anal glands since this became her regular food. I do not even have to supplement with canned pumpkin. Very pleased with it.

High quality dog food. My dog is allergic to food coloring so I have a limited number of options for dog food. I have come across a few brands that don’t list food color amongst the ingredients that have caused reactions (including Rachel Ray’s brand). My dog has been able to enjoy this food without issue and I have noticed a slight uptick in his energy level since switching to the small dog blend. I have had a hard time finding this in stores, so I was thrilled to find it at a reasonable price online! My dog is a Jack Russell/Beagle mix. He is about 22 lbs (admittedly a little chunkier than he should be, but who isn’t these days?) So I few him as a small mid sized dog. The pieces of this food are very small, perhaps geared toward a smaller breed than my dog, but that doesn’t bother him and he seems to have no digestion issues.

My shelter rescue, which I’ve had since she was weaned 13 years ago, was losing her hair and pulling out the hair she didn’t lose . My vet put her on steroids then weaned her off and she got better and prescribed special shampoo. I had been ordering random pure, natural, no filler, etc. dog food and found this one after a few months. She thrived on this product and regained her full coat. She started acting like a playful puppy again and sweeping her fan-tail up all the time. When she was sick, her tail was always tucked under (with not much hair). I left her dog food in my son’s pool house Christmas and fed her other products left over from previous buys when I got home. She has been slowly pulling her hair out ever since we got home after New Years. I’ve ordered her this product again and am looking forward to start feeding it to her again in two days.

I have a nearly nine year old tri-colored Beagle by the name of Bella. She had only eaten one brand of natural dog food since she was a puppy. When my local pet food store stopped carrying it, I started getting it from Amazon but over time the price rose and it got harder to find the smaller bags that I needed. So I decided to look for some other natural, grain free option. The first one I tried made Bella itch (guess she was allergic), the second one she would only eat if we put in some “people food”. Then I saw the Purina Beyond Natural Dry Food. Bella absolutely loves it. Always a grazer she now gobbles it down as soon as her dish is on the floor and the price was right for such a quality product. We’ll be ordering again soon!

Have not been using this very long, but so far am pleased. My dogs like it. It’s too soon to tell, but I think it is helping my one dog’s allergies improve. I had been giving them a good quality dog food, but it had many of the typical ingredients found in commercial dog foods. Thought I’d give this natural dog food a try. Will know later what the final verdict is.

I mix this dry food with beyond wet food and my dog is doing very well on it. Regular elimination. would only use these beyond products

  11. (verified owner)

This is the only brand of dog food that does not make my dogs hair fall out. He is allergic to every dog food I have ever tried. Mostly I have tried grain free brands and this one tastes great (according to my dog). I have a hard time finding this brand in the store and its cheaper on Amazon so its a win win to get on Amazon. I highly recommend this for any dog that has chronic itching and hair falling out issues that are related to food.

My senior dog has urine leakage and I was told that pumpkin was a natural way to treat this condition. I was adding cooked pumpkin puree to her food but that was messy. I bought te Purina Beyond dog food with the pumpkin to try, I was not sure of the Salmon. My dog loves this food and so far we have had no problems with urine leakage. I highly recommend this food for anyone who has a dog that is older and has urine leakage.

Very fresh once opened. Will be buying online a lot more since our local retail doesn’t keep it stocked. Our 11 year old snaggle-toothed girl can’t handle the larger size food. She always vomits it up. Then she got used to me grinding it in a nut grinder. OMW…she would hit the kitchen like a crack head once she heard me grinding it!! Became a gluten and I couldn’t leave food down all day for her to eat at her leisure anymore. It took 2 or 3 times of her stuffing her gut so much she vomited until she remembered how to eat like a “civilized being” again!! All is right in our world!! Minus the death breath that comes with this food. It is so bad. Be it chicken or salmon, it smells like death but is so much better on her sensitive gut. No more bile vomit. That was the whole reason I switched to this brand to begin with. I’ve tried everything from expensive Vet sold only to all homemade organic & raw. I love to help her out but it’s just not something I can prepare daily. This works, we’ll deal with the stinky breath!!

I feed mostly raw diet (like Aunt Jeni’s), but use dry food for their puzzle balls, etc. I have noticed an absolute difference in my wild rescue part Aussie Cattle dog since I got this 2 weeks ago — she is much more stable, calm and not so headstrong. I will keep buying this!!

  15. (verified owner)

dogs love it – home delivery is convenient I don’t have to carry it around at the pet store. One of my dogs had Parvo as pup and is part Husky so he has a sensitive gut . The fish and pumkin or sweet potatoe dog foods are the only ones that don’t give him the squirts and extreme gas. We are a happier family when his gut is working well.

This is part of the feeding regimen for our two dogs, one a Border Collie and the other a Golden Retriever. We feed our dogs twice a day with two kinds of dry food and two kinds of canned food. We feed them an amount consistent with their weight and their need for caloric intake. They readily eat their food with no left overs. They like this dry food even as a treat by itself.

  17. (verified owner)

My male dog started having “male problems” after I switched to Purina Beyond Beef. My boarder suggested I try salmon food and said that his problems might be due to allergies – she was right! This food virtually eliminated the problems the other food caused. (My vet didn’t even suggest that food might be the problem.) He also seems to really like this food, but he does like to eat!

  18. (verified owner)

My dog had stopped eating the previous food even when I switched the flavor. He would leave it sit for a day or two until I mixed something into it. This food never sits in the bowl unless he is just not hungry. I am so glad we found this food. His coat looks great and he’s not itchy scratchy like I’d noticed he’d become in recent weeks.

  19. (verified owner)

I’ve been trying to find an affordable dog food brand with the vet recommended amount of protein/ healthy fats/ carbohydrate break down that was organic, and was shocked to see this brand hit all of those standards. The $50 brand I usually purchase was too much out of pocket – my dog LOVES this stuff and it’s a steal for the quality and nutrition breakdown.

I have 3 miniature dachshunds that are very sensitive to foods. When I switched to Beyond it really started helping. Now I found this with salmon & pumpkin & there has been a huge difference. There has been a little weight gain (approximately 1lb each) so I have cut back on amt of food with each feeding & that seems to work. I’m just glad they are tolerating Beyond. I have always used Purina Little Bites forever so now I feel better with Beyond.

  21. (verified owner)

After trying numerous “premium” brands, this is the only dog food I’ve found that doesn’t trigger any allergic reactions in my chihuahua. Before finding this blend (specifically the salmon and pumpkin), every other dog food I’d tried would either give my dog terrible tear stains or make him break out in itchy, scaly hives, along with ear infections. Purina Beyond Salmon & Pumpkin is the only food that has kept my dog allergy free and he loves the flavor (pumpkin is one of his favorite things), so that’s an added bonus!Side note: I did try the tuna & egg recipe when the salmon & pumpkin was unavailable, and unfortunately, he developed itchy patches and got an ear infection. The only difference I could find between the two recipes is that the tuna blend has pea starch and cassava root flour, but I’m not sure which of those was the culprit.

I leave dry food out in a dispenser for the dogs to graze on as they get hungry. This food is very dense and helped with their skin and coat as well as digestive issues. I have one small dog and two med sized dogs. They eat when they get hungry and do not over eat or ignore this food. They like it. Their stools are not runny not constipated. All in all quality dog food. But every dog is different as are people so go with what your dog likes and needs. This food stopped my Chi itching! And it has helped my Jack Russel skin and coat!

  23. (verified owner)

Excellent dog food and Vet approved! The Salmon superfoods version has become my dog’s favorite and for a treat, a small scoop of the wet canned version. The superfood blend has no grain but rather has veggies and vitamins. My current rescue dog’s coat has improved greatly since he became a member of my family! Kibble is small and adding a little water to it is perfect for my old dog with few teeth to consume.

  24. (verified owner)

My little pug is turning into a pudgy pug now that I switched her to this formula. She is NEVER satisfied…always barking for more…..maybe she just loves the taste of it, but she is driving us kookoo always scratching on the cabinet where we keep the food. She’s completely deaf so it is hard to correct her behavior…..i think we will go back to the Beyond 9 ingredient chicken flavor and see if her behavior changes

  25. (verified owner)

My 2 small dogs, one mini-poodle and one mini-blend are doing quite well on this food. They love it and have been eating it for over a year now.One of the unexpected “side” benefits is the pumpkin. The pumpkin is supplying the key ingredient (roughage) to eliminate “scooting” Every dog owner knows what that meansI supplement the dry with a couple of spoonfuls of quality canned food. Alternating with chicken and beef.Happy little chowhounds

  26. (verified owner)

My maltese mix has been eating this for years. He’s seven, but you could never tell by his spunky personality and shiny coat. I also have a one year old jackchi, who chows it down too! I’ve been having issues trying to find the small dog bags in a bigger size other than the 3.5 lb bags, so I purchase the 15 lb online.

  27. (verified owner)

My two hospice dogs prefer this food over some premium brands. The ingredients are good quality and it appears that this food is very tasty. My smallest pup is very picky but goes for this food. Will be trying the superfoods version of Beyond soon and offering both for variety. It is sometimes difficult to keep weight on the pups with cancer but it is easier when the food smells and tastes good. It passes the doggie taste test.

When I opened the box i found that the bag was not sealed and the contents were all over the bottom of the box. After i picked up most of it i thought i should take a picture which i have attached. It seems to me that whoever packed it should have realized that it wasn’t sealed. I don’t know what to do. I am almost out of food and if i return it my dogs won’t have anything to eat. I am also afraid to continue to order this thru the mail. Just saying very very disappointed.

  29. (verified owner)

Came fresh, not crumbled and no tears in the bag. Our dog like the chicken and barely version of this so I bought the chicken, barly and egg thinking he would like it too. He did like it but doesnt agree with his stomach. Switched back to the one without eggs.

I’ve been giving this to my dogs for years – I thought. Has the recipe changed? There seems to be different packaging and may be more ingredients. Got a new bag and both dogs got sick so I went on the boiled chicken breast diet exclusively. One dog improved, but the other is still having diarrhea and lots of discomfort. The vet will just tell me to give pepto, so I started that and he is still uncomfortable, kept me up half the night last night. Anyone else having this issue?

  31. (verified owner)

We have this delivered monthly. Our two dogs prefer it to other brands. Always arrives properly packaged and perfectly intact. So much easier and convenient than buy at the pet supply or grocery store.

  32. (verified owner)

I liked this product because it is all natural with no grains or soy. Having said that I am not so sure my dogs enjoyed the flavor but the again they can be picky. As far as a decent, quality mass-produced dog food goes I would definitely recommend Purina Beyond.

  33. (verified owner)

Not only is this a good brand, but my wire haired Jack Russell loves it & doesn’t scratch as much anymore

  34. (verified owner)

….what the issue is, but my cat is not a fan of this Superfood Blend. She is only eating about half as much as she does of the Indoor Salmon and has been vomiting much more often than her usual once a month cleanse. I am wondering if it is the size of the kibble as she has a tendency to not chew her food. The Nuggets are about 3 times the size of the Indoor kibble, a bit smaller than that of dog kibble. I won’t be ordering again.

This dog food is excellent for all 3 of my canine kids despite the necessity of it being the most idea for a F3 standard golden doodle with secere food allergies to to wheat gluten and by products! Even to other brands this one has been the most beneficial! They love it and absorb its nutrients very well and ships faster than expected!

  36. (verified owner)

Great dog food. My vet approves and said everything in it is pretty nutritional for my 3 fur babies!

  37. (verified owner)

I love this product for my dog. Daisy is super picky and I have changed dog food 4 other times because she eats it for a while then she snubs her nose to it. I have been giving her this for two years and she still likes it.

  38. (verified owner)

I have an 11-year-old Chihuahua, and her teeth are not in great condition. I was looking for a reputable brand with healthy ingredients, good reviews, and at a reasonable price. This one is great for my dog because the pieces are super tiny and not too hard, she loves the flavor, great price, it was delivered to my door, it’s healthy…it’s perfect.

  39. (verified owner)

I only give it 4 stars because I have 6 cats, and only 3 of them like this. The other 3 only eat it when they are really hungry. I bought it because I know it’s healthy and my cats love this brand..I will just need to try another flavor for the picky eaters.Thank you!

  40. (verified owner)

We started using this dry dog food to help with my dog’s allergies that affected her skin and fur. She loves the flavor and it definitely improved her skin and coat. She is very happy and healthy!

  41. (verified owner)

Good food helps with allergies and sensitive tummy for my picky GSD. Wish it came in a 30 lb bag. Same price as walmart, chewy, petco.

  42. (verified owner)

The packaging is identical to their cat food line. This makes it easy to accidentally purchase the wrong food.

  43. (verified owner)

The front label makes this dog-food appear as though there is not chicken in it. We gave it to our dog who has a chicken allergy, and he began itching, and losing his fur. Upon closer inspection (which I should have done first–my bad) I discovered that the product does contain chicken.

  44. (verified owner)

Make my APBT skin dry and flaky. She loved the taste but her coat was like 😒 NO lol

I have three dogs – An akita, a maltese, and a yorkshire terrier. It’s hard to find a food that works for all 3 dogs. This is the one (for us)! My akita has stomach sensitivities so I have to be careful what he eats. He needs food without corn, wheat, and soy. With those requirements the choices are limited. Many of the high quality foods that meet this requirement don’t seem to be very desirable to the dogs. This food is high quality AND desirable to all three of my dogs – and gives the akita no stomach troubles. It’s also affordable That’s an A+ from me.

  46. (verified owner)

We have fed our Shar-Pei and Shiba Inu Iam’s Sensitive Naturals Ocean Fish and Rice for years. Now we cannot find it anymore so we switched over to Purina Beyond Natural. We were so hesitant since our puppies have sensitive digestive systems. But the worry was for naught! They both LOVED this new food. No gaseous smells after eating either :). They are both happy and we are over the moon that we found a replacement dog food.

  47. (verified owner)

Will not be buying this food again! It made my dogs sick! Idk if we got a bad bag or what but they were puking them refused to eat the food at all! Switched to Crave and they are back to normal!

  48. (verified owner)

He really liked the taste of this food, but for a few days in a row (each and every time a new bag was opened) the kibble caused my dog to be extremely gassy, and the odor of the gas was not normal, nor was the smell from the fecal deposits themselves. Once I took him off this food the smell did not recur.

  49. (verified owner)

My 4 dogs went crazy over this food, I tried it because one of my dogs has allergies and we are trying every protein. Well, all the dogs went nuts over this but sadly one is still allergic to something in here.

  50. (verified owner)

My rescue dog had very bristly hair when I got her but after months of eating this her fur was smooth and shiny. My dog likes it dry and especially likes it when I mix it with the ground canned food of the same brand .
