I’m not going to say this is the best food on the market, but I do like it alot. My dog loves it. Ive had no problems such as gas, vomitting, or poop issues. Ive used pricier brands that seemed TOO natural in what they contained, and they did cause loose stools or gas, no matter how they were introduced. Cheaper I’d never go, but I feel that that NUTRISH beef/brown rice is a great option if you are on a budget. I consider it to be on the higher end of the affordable food options. I am judging that by the ingredients, kibble size, and experience with it, as well as how my dogs have done with it. I’d pay more for this food, but am grateful that its priced like cheap brands of dog foods that contain crap, like corn as one of the 1st two ingredients. This product is not advertising what it is not. I did notice that when I tried the chicken for variation, my pup would pass gas and eat more than usual, two major negatives- so back to beef+rice it is. We own a 6lb chihuahua who loves his food and has been on this since he was 12 weeks. We got a baby chow chow who is now 5 months and doing wonderfully on it as well. I add fish oil or olive oil to their food once a week as well. I’d like if it were available in more places locally, but online at a discounted rate with free shipping works. Would recommend. FYI: That I know of, Nutrish is sold locally at Stop&Shop, Walmart, and Duane Reade if youre in NY.

Rocky is about 14 lbs and some sort of terrier mix breed that we rescued. I was trying to find him a good dog food that isn’t filled with artificial ingredients like most dog foods. This one isn’t perfect but it’s better than most that are in this price range. The funny thing is Rocky eats all the beef chunks first and then goes back to eat the leftovers later. He digs through his dog dish and makes a mess pushing the other pieces out of the way just to get the beef chunks. The price of this dog food doesn’t break my wallet either. Of course subscribe and save helps a lot as well. Getting it delivered to my door every months also guarantees never running out of dog food which is a bonus! They also have a 4 or 6 lb bag (I can remember exactly) so its great to get a smaller bag first to see if your dog likes it before you buy the bigger bag.

We have used many of the big name brands of dog food for our German Sheppard and Husky, trying to find a food that they liked and was not full of fillers, coloring’s, and additives. We were willing to pay premium price for the right food. After watching a couple of the Rachel Ray shows with segments on dogs, we were impressed to learn that this food contains no fillers and no additives. It is just real food! Equally impressive is the fact that Rachel Ray donates all the proceeds of her dog food to animal rescue shelters. So we decided to try a bag. Our dogs love the food!!! Now the true test – if you talk to any vet they will tell you that the real truth about a dogs food is in their poo! I know it is really gross to talk about, but when dog food is full of fillers and other additives, it is smelly and mushy and sometimes very hard to scoop up. So that was the real test! And it passed – our dogs liked the taste of the food and – cleaning up the dog poo is not so bad now. It is not as smelly and holds together instead of being mushy and hard to scoop up. The other great thing is that we do not have to spend a fortune on dog food now. We can get a great, healthy dog food that the dogs like, is good for them and doesn’t break the bank! Thank you Rachel Ray!!! This dog food rocks!

My dogs love this food! I used to give them the expensive dog food only sold at the pet store. For some reason there was always one of the dogs that didn’t like something about the different flavors. At times it would also affect their stomachs leaving me a mess to clean up. I had been purchasing this brand at the store until I found it on Amazon. Same price as the store but I don’t have to spend the time to go get it! They have been inhaling it for about 5 months now. Their very energetic and their coats look just as good now as when they ate the food that was over double the price. Haven’t had a problem with their sensitive stomachs. Only wish this was on their list of items you could subscribe to.

a really fussy eater, my great pyr who was a rescue animal and now my service animal just refuses to eat most dog foods, without my adding pure meat to it. not a problem but his fussiness is daily and a routine so everyday i gotta do something different, but as an abused and abandonded animal nothing is too much trouble for me just confusing, don’t like to see a dog starve itself if they are malnourished. anyhow, this is the only brand he will eat plain if he has to. he prefers stuff in it, but if i think he’s just being stubborn and manipulating me i tend to leave just the plain food out in the same bowl for 2 or three days. the nutritional content is adequate for him and the extra protein i feed him is helping to put some weight on him.

My dog AND cats love it.My dog will eat just about everything, even things in the cats litter box (I know, gross), but he has always been super picky about his dry food and gets sick of one he likes very quickly and will refuse to eat it.I have been buying this food for over a year now, and he eats it with excitement, like it was a steak! I’m glad it’s affordable too. My dog is 14 years old and in excellent shape still. I attribute it to his diet which this food is a part of.I’d definitely reccomend.

  7. (verified owner)

Great ingredients. If only my dog would eat more of it. Must not like the taste because he only eats when very hungry; then only enough to stave off the hunger. I’ve tried 3 of the brands, had to change brands because his ribs began to show. Reading any if this brand’s labels sounds great. Possibly just needs better flavor.

  8. (verified owner)

I don’t know what it is about this dog food, but my picky eater LOVES this stuff. I have a husky who usually will devour a new food/flavor at first, but after about 5 helpings she’ll get tired of it and refuse to eat. I’ve even tried buying smaller bags of different dry dog food to switch it up, but if she’s had it before, she doesn’t want it again. I usually buy Taste of the Wild and have also tried Purina Beyond, Natural Balance, and even the Costco brand dog food, all different flavors, but she absolutely loves this brand. I can serve this to her time and time again and she will always devour it all. Will definitely be trying other flavors of this brand.

This dog food is undoubtedly a great price, but the benefits seem to end there. It caused my golden retriever to have soft excrement. The dog food also contains questionable ingredients including iron oxide which is a synthetic color additive as well as other artificial colorings. The food also contains menadione which is a controversial form of vitamin K linked to liver toxicity, allergies and the abnormal break-down of red blood cells. When we switched dog food brands, just two meals later, our golden retriever was having healthy bowl movements again.

  10. (verified owner)

I will give it a solid 4 stars. We have been trying it for two months now and my five dogs (even the picky one) seem to enjoy it.Their stools are normal. They had no problems at all switching brand and we have had no issues with digestion. My only con – there has to be one at least 🙂 is that when I open the package to pour content into a container, well, the food is really greasy. I was a bit rebuked by it the first time and was expecting the worst from this food but it turned out to be a great choice, both for quality and price.I will go on buying.

  11. (verified owner)

This food literally turned my dog into a bomb. I’m talking explosions all over the house. Up the walls, on the cabinets, even on a cup that was on a table. Not kidding. She loved it and gobbled it up, though. And then kaboom. Is Rachael Ray going to come bleach these walls?

  12. (verified owner)

My dog is a very finicky eater. I’ve tried offering him many dry foods but he always just sniffs them then walks away, most of the food he’s been offered were quite expensive, “gourmet” brands. He would eventually eat them if they were left for him long enough or if they were mixed with canned food. When I offered him Rachael Ray Nutrish, he gobbled it up right away and then begged me to give him more.

  13. (verified owner)

My dogs love the beef flavor of this dog food. They get so excited for meal time, which they didn’t used to do when we were using another dog food. I feel it is a great value, too. My dogs coats are so shiny on this food, the vet asks me every time what food they are getting.

  14. (verified owner)

We have been buying this food for years! When Rachael Ray came out with this food, we switched and our dogs all loved it and their coats improved. We have tried beef and chicken. The dogs seem to prefer the beef. This brand has not been on the recall lists as far as I know, which adds some comfort in knowing we are feeding quality food to our dogs!

  15. (verified owner)

I love my Corgel and Bagel. I don’t want to feed them Ol’ Roy, but I cannot afford Taste of the Wild or Blue. I have found this to be a very good balance between what I can afford and high quality food I feel good about giving them. And they LOVE it. The Corgel would eat saw dust, but the Bagel turns her nose to almost everything. In this case they never leave their bowls empty.

  16. (verified owner)

When I first gave this food to my great dane, he was throwing up after every meal. I thought maybe he had gotten into something that was making him sick. Turns out it was this food. My dog couldn’t even keep this food down. I’m not sure if it was the food itself or just that he wasn’t tolerant of it. Either way, he was fine overnight when I switched his food.

  17. (verified owner)

not a fan. first time trying a new brand then what I typically buy. it gave my dogs horrible gas. also made them throw up. my dogs never throw up unless they eat something they shouldn’t. yet the first day I gave them this they started to throw up. the one that didn’t throw up got horrible gas for weeks. I switched back to the brand I been buying for my dogs and will not buy this one again.

  18. (verified owner)

We have 3 Boston terriers and they love this food. It keeps their coat shiny and keeps them from having dry itchy skin. It is aslo very good for them. We have this set up on subscribe and save and we get a bag every other month. So convenient to have it shipped to the door. No wrestling with a big bag at the store! We love Rachel Ray and we love her dog food.

  19. (verified owner)

My 10 month old German Shepherd puppy loves this food. It’s the only dog food we’ve been giving her since we adopted her at 8 weeks. Pretty fair price. Not the best price I’ve found but it ships free with prime and keeps me from having to haul a heavy bag of food in from the car.

  20. (verified owner)

I just opened the bag from an order placed in January. I used to go through this food fast when I fostered but now that I’m down to one, I’ve only just now had to open a new bag. It smells like paint. No other way to describe it. And, the bag doesn’t have an expiration date stamped where the expiration stamp goes (or anywhere else on the bag, for that matter). Who knows how long this stuff was sitting in an Amazon warehouse. It’s been “off-gassing” for a good hour now and still smells like paint when you stick your head in the bag or smell the food in a bowl. Too late to return/refund but I will never EVER buy this food again. And, I will never EVER buy any other dog food from Amazon if they carry product without dates.Back to chewy and Taste of the Wild for my guy.

  21. (verified owner)

At first my doggy is a picky eater so, I picked this up at random a small bag 3 lbs. Then I ordered a big bag, after a month my dog was on deaths door reaching her lowest weight of 9lbs from 12. Thank god the vet fixed her up quick and put us on new dog food. Sad this dog food did a lot of damage, but thank god nothing $300 at the vet can’t cure. Stay away.

  22. (verified owner)

** DO NOT BUY** Our dogs did not like this food at all and we believe it made our female greyhound sick. I also thought it smelled funny when we took it out of the bag. I just threw out 1/2 to 3/4 of the bag. I would have donated it to a NPO animal shelter but I did not want to made those dogs sick either. We are not pleased and won’t be returning as a customer. Purina One Balance is the far superior dog food.

  23. (verified owner)

I was feeding my dog nutritionally good food…BUT…she didn’t like the taste so I had to bribe her by putting tasty cheese or something that she liked the taste of….THAT IS UNTIL I TRIED THIS FOOD!! OMGosh! My LaLuna now is so happy to get this food that she hops up and down on her front paws as she’s waiting to get it. She finally has food she enjoys! THANK YOU RACHEL RAY and thank you AMAZON for having it at my fave shopping place!

  24. (verified owner)

I have 2 dogs, a 2 year old german shepherd and a 2 and 1/2 year old daschund mix. We got him at the shelter. I was feeding them a cheaper brand of dog food. They are usually very playful but seemed to be slowing down. The German Shepherd, Apollo, started losing weight. Not a good sign. He just wasnt eating well. I decided to change their food to something better for them. The Rachael Ray was an instand hit. The ingredients are good for them and its very affordable. My German Shepherd has gained weight and they are both back to their usual selves. I like the varienty of flavors also.

  25. (verified owner)

My dog gets mad if I don’t buy this so I auto oder every month. You don’t want to see a 70 lb pit bull with searing eyes and sharp teeth mad, so you generally do what he wants. My opinion is that he has a thing for Rachael Ray, but I’ve asked him a few times and he denies it. He says it just tastes good. All kidding aside. good dog food at a good price. Just as good as the pet store food.

  26. (verified owner)

Thankfully, my dog loves this dry food. I feel so much better giving her something that I know is healthy. I mix it with the Nutrish wet food and she hasn’t turned any of it away yet. She is not a picky eater but I have always tried to give her the highest rated food, which is sometimes not as tasty as the questionable ingredients. This product certainly is tasty and is even better in price than what I have been feeding her. I bought a small bag first to see if she would like it. She did so I bought the mid-size. I would have bought the larger one but I knew I wouldn’t have been able to lift it. A really good purchase.

  27. (verified owner)

Not sure how this says no fillers. It has corn and a ton of other junk….corn meal. etc wow!! Read the ingredients. Do you own research. Marketing is a scam.

  28. (verified owner)

My spoiled hounds love this food, we buy several varities of the Rachel Ray brands. Once per week we also lightly cook a big pot of meat, veggies olive and coconut oil sometimes with rice for the dogs and then mix it with the kibble at meal time. I feel this is a better diet for them as it has more meat and good oils.I noticed that my hounds poops do not stink as much with this brand and it is in a decent price range. Although it is the lowest priced kibble we buy for them.It is cheaper on Amazon by about $5-$8 than my local walmart of grocery store, and it gets delivered so that is bonus.I dont really have any pics of them eating food, so attached are just pics of them because everybody like pet pics.

  29. (verified owner)

I’ve been a dog owner for over 30 years and we have tried all different types of brands when it comes to feeding the 4 legged children. I laugh every time the UPS man delivers a new bag because the dogs seem to know it is for them and they sit calmly waiting for me to open the box, pour it into their container and feed them. I have noticed a huge difference in the coat of our pug- he seems to be sensitive to everything but since we started feeding him Rachael Ray his coat is thicker and shines.

  30. (verified owner)

Not all natural! Never again after it has come to light that the herbicide glysophate is in the ingredients which makes animals and people sick. She is being sued because animals are sick from eating it over time. Totally wasted my time and money thinking I was investing in the health of my animals. I’ll be making their food from now on. She needs to be held heavily accountable. I will be returning the bag that arrived.

  31. (verified owner)

I wasn’t going to do this but since you are prompting me for a review here goes.I’m not sure where this particular bag of dog food was stored or came from but a few days after I opened it and put it in my tightly covered dog food bin, my kitchen was filled with moths…food moths…in the cupboards near the food and flying all around. My dog had vomited several times…wasn’t sure what was going on…Googled the moth problem (which I have NEVER seen or had before) and several replies were check your dry dog or cat food. So I did. And there were tiny white eggs (I guess that’s what they were) on the food. I had to throw all the packaged food in my cupboards out, threw the food out…sterilized everything with a bleach solution and put peppermint oil (suggested solution) in the cupboards. Nightmare. I think the food is ok but probably had been stored near something that was infested. In fairness, this is the second bag I purchased, the first one was fine or I wouldn’t have purchased again. Wish I could get a credit but anyway…Out of an abundance of caution, I won’t be buying it online again.

  32. (verified owner)

My dog looks amazing since switching to Nutrish. I was feeding him expensive grain free dog food and he was under weight and dull. Now i have a happy…sparkling coat..perfect weight pup. He loves all of the treats as well…soup bones are his favorite. I live in DC so the store by my house only stocks small bags for $10. Amazon sells a bigger bag for $15 that i dont have go lug home.Props out to Rachel Ray. That gangsta loves dogs much as i do.Love you RR

  33. (verified owner)

My dogs love this food. It’s more expensive than most other food but Amazon sells it less than the store so it’s not so bad. Both my dogs coats are silky smooth and they have normal digestive movements. Only problem is they will keep eating this food until they throw up so I have to assume this food tastes good to them.

  34. (verified owner)

Unlike stereotypical women, I hate shopping and I work a lot. I am very thankful that I can get a lot of my needs through Prime without cost for shipping at prices comparable to retail – sometimes less. I’ve been buying this dog food for years, and my dog loves it! She’s a very finicky eater (unless it’s table food, then everything’s game). So I was happy to find a dog food that seems to be good for her that she likes.

  35. (verified owner)

I have three dogs. Two labs and one dachshund. I assure you my gang is spoiled rotten. I want them to eat well but can’t always afford the top of the line dog foods. This said I tried one of the more expensive/popular brands of dog food and my guys didn’t like it at all. Next I tried this Rachael Ray Real Beef and Brown Rice and they love it. This is now the 4th time I’ve gotten it and so far they are still giving it the paws up.

  36. (verified owner)

It is truly difficult to find a quality beef based dog food. After my sweet little German Short-Haired Pointer turned 1 year old, I started began the task of finding an adult food for him. Most are foods in the store (grocery or pet store) are chicken or fish based. I found that my pointer didn’t seem to like these products very much and the end result as it moved through is system was short and runny stool. After trying a bag of the Rachel Ray Beef, not only did he like the food – the end result was much more normal stool. And 2 plus years later, he is still doing well. Thank goodness, I found a quality beef based food

  37. (verified owner)

Great dog food but the shopping carrier SUCKS. I’ve ordered this as a reoccurring delivery and every other month USPS claims that either my address doesn’t exist or that my building is unaccessible which is crap. I think maybe because it’s heavy they just don’t want to deal with it but it’s becoming really annoying. USPS needs to get their s*** together. Other than that I’m a big fan of the ingredients list in which all of these Nutrish products have a meat product as their number one ingredient and not a meal of some sort. Seems to be good quality and the dogs like it.

  38. (verified owner)

This is the only dog food I give to my 2 pugs. I tried expensive high end brands like Blue Buffalo, Merrick. My one pug kept getting blocked anal gland. Trips to Vet were 3x year.I decided to give this a try. Have not had ONE issue. Since the switch my dog has had ZERO anal gland (yuk) issues. Its been a year since I started giving it to them. However, I just started buying on Amazon because the bag was getting too heavy for me to carry. My dogs love it. I love the price and the ingredient list meets my demands. Win win.And its Never had any recalls like some of the ‘designer’ expensive brands. Works for me.

  39. (verified owner)

I switched to the Nutrish for my dog and 4 cats. After a few months, they All 5 started losing hair! We couldn’t figure it out so we let it go a bit, finally decided it must be the food. Took them off the food (both wet and dry), and within a few weeks – no more hair loss! And, it’s growing back in. Did some research, and it turns out I am not the only one who had this problem. Never again!

  40. (verified owner)

My dogs are rescues and have sensitive bellies. Over the last year we’ve tried a couple different brands of food. This is the only one they really like that doesn’t make them sick. No diarrhea, no vomiting, they’re finally at a stable healthy weight and their coats are shiny. Amazon has a better price than the local stores and they bring the 40 pound bag straight to my door which makes my back happy!

  41. (verified owner)

I switched to this food because it was cheaper than taste of the wild. My dogs seemed to like it, but it gave one of my dogs an allergic reaction. She got scabby spots on her stomach which she never had on taste of the wild. They started right after I started them on the food and now that I switched to a different brand she has stopped getting them.

  42. (verified owner)

I have been feeding my dogs this brand of food for a few years now and started a subscription in April 2018. The subscription has been amazing; however the last two bags of dog food I have gotten have made my dog’s ill. This April I noticed that our dogs have been sick, but wrote it off thinking that they both were having problems with allergies. Today we opened May’s delivery and my dogs have been projectile vomiting. I’m not sure what has happened with the quality of the dog food –we always get the same flavor and the same size bag. We now have two sick dogs and are ripping the carpet out off our stairs because there was SO much vomit it destroyed the carpet. Pictures only show a small fraction of the vomit that my dogs produced, and are still producing.

  43. (verified owner)

We buy dog food based on the FF (fart factor). The dogs like this and they don’t gas us out of the room. Each piece is tiny. The dog food doesn’ t smell too strong. We leave it out all the time. We have always let our dogs eat whenever they wish. Our 13 dogs over the years have always been the perfect weight. We also break the rules by feeding the pups human leftovers. This dog for d is liked by the dogs but disliked by the post woman.

  44. (verified owner)

After 6 months of purchasing this product and my dogs loving it, they became intolerant of something in the food.We received a shipment in mid-May and both dogs violently vomited almost immediately after eating it and had loose stools for several days after. I changed their diets to rice and boiled chicken for a week to settle their stomachs and then tried the dog food again. Almost instantly, it made them both sick again. I threw out the rest of the bag and contacted Amazon in hopes that they would follow up with the manufacturer in case their was a larger product issue. I didn’t want any other fur babies to suffer. Amazon was fantastic and provided a full refund of the most recent purchase.

  45. (verified owner)

I have a very picky cocker spaniel. She has a very sensitive stomach on top of that. We bought this food not knowing how or if she would like it. She went right to it. She does love it. We were kind of surprised. We are happy because we have learned that this is actually healthier for her than what she was eating. Needless to say we are switching to this food. I don’t know what else to say.

  46. (verified owner)

This food killed my dog. He was perfectly healthy before he ate this food and 2 months later he was dead. He was 4.5 years old. Do not feed this to your dog, unless you want him/her to die.

  47. (verified owner)

We have been using this for a couple of years and just recently learned the FDA has warned against feeding it to your fur babies. Our dog is our daughter and we will be extremely heart broken if she becomes sick. The brand was very affordable and we really liked that it was automatically shipped to us but we won’t chance her health with it.

  48. (verified owner)

I switched from Blue brand because of the bad reputation they’ve gotten lately, but after using this I got sick of it going straight through my dog and her pooping twice within a few hours of eating a meal. She hasn’t had issues with pooping in the middle of the night and that started… so I am going back to my old brand. There seems nothing special about this food nutritional wise to make it worth the hassle.

  49. (verified owner)

I recently found out that Rachel Ray at other brands are a leading cause of cardiac disease in animals please work with a licensed veterinarian to prevent number one overeating overweight just like us our dogs are prone to heart attacks unfortunately for me I stood by Rachael Ray not knowing until a recent product review came out that my dog was at risk

  50. (verified owner)

My dogs won’t eat anything else! I used to have to “doctor” their kibble when I gave them anything else. They don’t even like Science diet as much as this stuff. I read reviews and decided to try it and I’m so glad I did. With 3 dogs, kibble gets expensive, and with an overweight beagle, adding wet food was only making him gain more! Thank you, Rachel Ray! And to whomever the seller is, thank you for getting this huge bag of food to me fast and fresh every month!
